Who operates Billy Atlas

Billy Atlas is a platform owned and operated by Rugged Lane Industries® (ABN 46 680 178 054). In these terms, 'Billy Atlas', 'we', 'us' and 'our' refer to Rugged Lane Industries® as the operator of the Billy Atlas platform, unless the context requires otherwise.

Billy Atlas works because creators and brands trust each other enough to have a real conversation. These guidelines set out what we expect from everyone on the platform, at https://billyatlas.com, and what happens if those expectations aren't met.

01

Who this applies to

These guidelines apply to every creator, brand, and team member using Billy Atlas, in every profile, brief, message, invitation, and upload. They apply whether you're on a free plan, a paid plan, or part of the founding-creator offer.

They sit alongside our Terms of Use, Acceptable Use Policy, and, for intellectual property matters, our IP Policy. Where there's a conflict, the more specific document governs the specific issue.

02

Four principles

Everything below comes back to four ideas. If you're ever unsure whether something is okay, test it against these.

  1. 1Be honest — about who you are, what you can deliver, and what your numbers mean.
  2. 2Be respectful — of people's time, their boundaries, and their differences.
  3. 3Be professional — reply or don't, but don't leave someone hanging mid-campaign.
  4. 4Be safe — for yourself and for everyone else using the platform.
03

Honesty about who you are

Use your real identity and your real brand. Don't create a profile for someone else, invent a persona, or claim an affiliation you don't have. If you manage a creator or a brand account, say so clearly.

Don't misrepresent what you can actually deliver. If your usual turnaround, format, or reach is different from what your profile implies, fix your profile rather than overpromise in conversation.

04

Honesty about metrics and results

Every figure on Billy Atlas carries a source label: creator-supplied, platform-connected, calculated by Billy Atlas, or verified by Billy Atlas. Enter creator-supplied figures honestly. Don't inflate rates, past results, or audience numbers.

Don't describe past campaign performance in a way you can't stand behind, and don't claim a brand relationship, past partnership, or outcome that didn't happen.

05

Respect in every message

Disagree, decline, negotiate hard, say no — all of that is fine. What isn't fine:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact after someone has said no.
  • Discrimination or derogatory comments based on race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or any other protected attribute.
  • Sexual harassment or sexually charged messages that aren't part of an agreed, lawful commercial arrangement.
  • Threats of any kind, including threats to someone's safety, reputation, or livelihood.
06

Professional conduct

Reply or don't — but make a decision. Ghosting someone mid-campaign, after work has started or a commitment has been made, damages trust for everyone who comes after you.

Don't send unsolicited bulk outreach through the platform. A brief or invitation should be genuine and specific, not a mass message dressed up as one.

07

How brands should treat creators

  • Bring a real budget. Don't run a brief you have no intention of paying for.
  • Don't dress up an unpaid ask as a paid opportunity, and don't offer 'exposure' as if it were compensation.
  • Be clear about scope — deliverables, usage rights, timing — before a creator commits.
  • Pay on time, on the terms you agreed.
08

How creators should treat brands

  • Quote rates you'd actually accept, not aspirational numbers.
  • Be honest about your availability and lead time.
  • Disclose conflicts — competing brand relationships or exclusivity terms — before you agree to work.
  • Deliver what you agreed, in the format and timeframe you agreed.
09

Protecting other people's information

What you see about another user on Billy Atlas — contact details, metrics, brief content, media kit assets — is there so you can assess a genuine partnership. It is not there for you to build a mailing list, a scraped database, or a lead list for something else.

Don't copy, store, or pass on another user's information beyond what's reasonably needed to evaluate or run the partnership you're discussing.

10

No off-platform pressure or circumvention

Don't push a conversation off-platform specifically to avoid our safety features, and don't pressure someone to bypass reporting, blocking, or moderation tools.

11

Content standards

Profiles, media kits, briefs, and messages must not contain content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit, or harmful to children. Content must not breach the AANA Code of Ethics.

Category advertising — alcohol, gambling, therapeutic goods, and financial products — carries extra legal obligations under Australian law. Meeting those obligations is your legal responsibility, not something Billy Atlas checks or guarantees for you.

12

Reporting

If someone breaches these guidelines, report the profile, opportunity, invitation, conversation, message, or upload at /report. For intellectual property concerns specifically, use /report-ip-infringement.

Reporting in good faith is always safe. We won't penalise you for raising a genuine concern, even if the report doesn't result in action.

13

What happens after a report

A moderator reviews the report. Possible outcomes include no action, content removal, a warning, restriction of features, suspension, or account termination.

We do not tell the person reported who reported them.

14

Consequences are proportionate

The response to a breach reflects its severity and pattern — a first, minor issue is treated differently from repeated or serious conduct. Serious safety breaches can result in immediate suspension or termination.

15

Appeals

If action is taken against your account and you believe it was wrong, you can appeal by contacting support@billyatlas.com. Tell us what decision you're appealing and why.

16

When we escalate

Where conduct may be unlawful, including under the Criminal Code Act 1995 (Cth) or the Online Safety Act 2021 (Cth), we may refer it to the police or the eSafety Commissioner, in addition to any action we take on the platform.

17

If you're in danger

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact emergency services (000 in Australia) first. Report to us afterwards — we can act on your account, but we can't respond to an emergency in real time.
