Who operates Billy Atlas
Billy Atlas is a platform owned and operated by Rugged Lane Industries® (ABN 46 680 178 054). In these terms, 'Billy Atlas', 'we', 'us' and 'our' refer to Rugged Lane Industries® as the operator of the Billy Atlas platform, unless the context requires otherwise.
You control what you share on Billy Atlas. This page explains, precisely, what you can delete, how, and what happens next — whether that's disconnecting Instagram, taking your profile down, or closing your account entirely.
Disconnecting removes the stored access token, the connection record, imported insights, imported media and media insights, and any metrics we calculated from that data. Your profile remains, minus anything sourced from Instagram.
You can also revoke Billy Atlas's access directly from your Instagram or Meta account settings. If you do this, our access token stops working. At our next attempted sync, we detect the revocation and remove the stored token, connection record and imported data in the same way as disconnecting from the Connect Instagram screen.
Unpublishing takes your profile out of public view and out of new search engine indexing, but keeps the underlying data saved in your account so you can republish later. It doesn't retroactively remove copies search engines had already indexed or cached before you unpublished, and it doesn't withdraw information from any brand who already viewed your profile or saved your details before you unpublished.
Deleting your profile removes it and its content from the platform. As with unpublishing, we can't retract cached or indexed copies that already existed elsewhere, or information a brand already saw and retained independently.
You can request full account deletion in three ways: from account settings, via the form at /request-deletion, or by emailing support@billyatlas.com. We verify it's really you making the request before we act on it, to stop someone else deleting your account.
If you've messaged with another user, deleting your account removes your access to those conversations, but we don't reach into the other party's account and delete their copy of the conversation for them — they retain what was sent to them, in the same way a text message can't be unsent from the recipient's phone.
If you've filed a report about another user, or a report has been filed about you, we generally keep a record of that report even after account deletion, so we can maintain trust and safety on the platform and respond consistently if related issues come up again.
Some information may be kept beyond deletion where we have a legal, safety or accounting reason to do so — for example, records needed to meet tax or accounting obligations, or to defend or bring a legal claim, or to enforce our terms against repeat bad actors. Specific retention periods for these categories are [RETENTION PERIOD TO BE CONFIRMED].
Deleted data is removed from live systems promptly, but may persist for a period in backups until those backups age out and are overwritten. This is [BACKUP RETENTION PERIOD TO BE CONFIRMED]. We don't restore deleted data from backups except to recover from a genuine system failure.
We may retain information that has been aggregated or de-identified so it no longer identifies you, even after your account is deleted, because it's no longer personal information about you.
We aim to action verified deletion requests within [DELETION TURNAROUND PERIOD TO BE CONFIRMED]. If anything about your request needs clarifying, we'll contact you at the email you used to request it.
If you'd like a copy of what we hold about you before you delete anything, email support@billyatlas.com and ask for an access request — see our Privacy Policy for how that works.
You can't delete content someone else lawfully published about you or your interactions with them — for example, a testimonial another user wrote, or their own copy of a shared conversation. Deletion rights cover your own information and content, not someone else's.
Questions about deletion, or help with any of the above, can be sent to support@billyatlas.com.
